iOS App Support
Allwhere • iOS Platform
Allwhere is an offline location & memory journal for iOS. Need help, have a question, or want to report an issue? You are in the right place.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Allwhere ask for “Always” location access?
Allwhere is an automatic timeline journal. Background location lets the app quietly notice when you arrive or stop somewhere during your day, without you having to open it each time. Without “Always”, a day out records almost nothing.
Where is my location and journal data stored?
Your journal stays on your device. Allwhere runs no tracking servers, analytics endpoints or user databases, and there is no account, no sign-in and no sync. Your places, notes, photos, videos and voice recordings never leave your iPhone. The map and the place names on your visits come from Apple Maps, so a coordinate does go to Apple to draw the map and look up an address — never your notes, your photos or your journal. See the privacy policy.
My daily route or stops are not being recorded. What can I do?
Open Settings → Allwhere → Location on your iPhone and make sure access is set to Always and that Precise Location is turned on. Also check that Low Power Mode is not suspending background activity.
How do I restore my purchase (Allwhere Plus)?
If you reinstalled the app or moved to a new iPhone, open Allwhere, tap any locked feature or go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. Allwhere Plus is a one-time, non-consumable purchase, so you will never be charged twice for the same Apple Account.
Which permissions does the app use, and why?
Each permission exists only to put something into your own journal, on your own device: Location to record the places you stop, Photo Library to attach or suggest pictures, and Camera and Microphone for photos, videos and spoken notes. You can refuse or withdraw any of them in iOS Settings; the app keeps working with less.
How do I export or delete my data?
Allwhere can write GPX files and full backups whenever you ask for them — they go wherever you send them, and nothing is uploaded on your behalf. To erase everything, use Settings → Delete All Data in the app, or delete the app itself.
What happens when I report a problem from inside the app?
The message is prepared in your own mail app and shown to you in full before you send it. It includes the app version, build number, iOS version, device model, language and your tracking settings — and nothing from your journal. You can delete any of it before sending. Support correspondence is kept for 24 months and then deleted.
