Privacy Policy
Allwhere is made by Allisvrai B.V., registered in the Netherlands (Hongarenburg 259, 2591 VM, The Hague, KvK 42101210). This policy explains what the app does with your information. It is short, because the app collects almost nothing.
The short version
Allwhere does not collect your data. There is no account, no sign-in, no sync, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind, and we run no server for the app to talk to. Everything you record — the places you stopped, your notes, photos, videos, voice recordings and coordinates — is stored on your device, and none of it is sent to us. Two parts of the app do use the network, because they are Apple’s: the map you look at, and the place names Allwhere puts on your visits. Both send coordinates to Apple and nothing else, as described under The map and place names below.
What stays on your device
- The places you visited, and when
- Notes, tags and anything else you write
- Photos and videos you attach, or references to the ones already in your photo library
- Voice recordings
- Documents you attach
- The street, city and place name looked up for each visit
- Your settings
All of it lives in the app’s own storage on your iPhone, together with a shared container belonging to the app. If you back up your iPhone, this data is part of that backup; that backup is between you and Apple, and we have no access to it.
The map and place names
Allwhere draws your visits on Apple Maps, and asks Apple to turn the coordinates of a stop into a street, a city and — where there is one — the name of the venue. Both are Apple services, and both need a network connection:
- Drawing the map sends the area you are looking at to Apple, so that Apple can send back the map images for it.
- Naming a place sends that one visit’s coordinates to Apple, and Apple sends back an address. The answer is stored on your device with the visit, and the app does not ask twice for the same spot.
Nothing else about a visit is sent: not your notes, not your photos, not your recordings, not the times you were there, and not your journal as a whole. Apple receives this as its own data controller under Apple’s privacy policy, not on our behalf, and how Apple handles it is described in Apple’s Location Services & Privacy notice. We never see any of it. We have no server, we are not a party to these requests, and nothing about them reaches us.
If your iPhone is offline, Allwhere keeps recording; place names are filled in later, when there is a connection again.
Permissions the app asks for
Each of these exists only to put something into your own journal, on your own device.
- Location (While Using the App, or Always). To notice the places you stop and record them on your timeline. “Always” is what allows this to keep working when the app is not open; without it, a day out records almost nothing.
- Photo Library. To attach photos and videos to your notes, to suggest pictures you took at a place while you were there, and — if you ask it to — to build a past timeline from the dates and locations already stored in your photos. If a photo lives in iCloud rather than on this iPhone, using it downloads it from your own iCloud account, exactly as it would in any app.
- Camera. To take a photo or record a video for a note.
- Microphone. To record spoken notes and the sound of videos.
You can refuse or withdraw any of these in iOS Settings. The app keeps working with less of it.
What leaves your device
Apart from the coordinates sent to Apple for the map and for place names, described above, things leave your device only when you make them happen:
- Exports you create. GPX files and full backups are written when you ask for them, and go wherever you send them. Nothing is uploaded on your behalf.

Email you send us. If you write to support@allisvrai.com from inside the app, the message is prepared in your own mail app and shown to you in full before you send it. It includes the app version, build number, iOS version, device model, language, and your tracking settings. It contains nothing from your journal — no places, no notes, no photos — and you can delete any of it before sending.
When you email us we receive your email address and whatever you wrote, because that is how email works. We use it to answer you and for nothing else. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in providing support (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). We keep support correspondence for 24 months and then delete it.
Purchases
Allwhere Plus is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, your payment details or your Apple Account. Your device asks Apple whether the purchase exists and unlocks the features locally; that check does not involve us.
Children
Allwhere is not directed at children, and collects no personal data from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. In practice we hold no personal data about you unless you have written to us, in which case you can ask us to delete that correspondence at support@allisvrai.com.
Everything the app itself holds stays on your phone and under your control. You can erase all of it at any time with Settings → Delete All Data, or by deleting the app. For the coordinates Apple receives when it draws your map or names a place, Apple is the controller and Apple’s own privacy policy governs what you can ask of it.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address and the date at the top is updated. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
